IFA firm Beaufort Financial is sponsoring Basingstoke Ladies RFC for the forthcoming season, which starts this week. Basingstoke Ladies was established three years ago and competes in National Challenge League 2. The Ladies beat Winchester 19-7 in the curtain raising friendly ahead of the first league match away to Southampton on the 16th September.

According to Sheree Cooper, Chair of Basingstoke Ladies, the support of Beaufort Financial has given the team a significant boost. “The financial support we have from Beaufort means that we can concentrate on building this section of club, knowing we can afford the cost of travel to away matches, insurance and other running costs.

“With the support of Beaufort we hope to finish in the top two in the league this season.”

Mark Dolby, Director of Beaufort Financial (Reading) added: “We are delighted to support the leading women’s rugby team in north Hampshire. We like the way the club encourages women from all walks of life and abilities to participate in what is one of the fastest growing women’s sport in the country, but unlike hockey and football is less well funded.”
