Beaufort Financial team gear up for a Beano – or 5!

The Beaufort Financial team and fellow Ark Cancer Centre Charity supporters will be piling on the pedal power as they take part in a static Beano bike challenge.

As part of the build-up to the Beaufort Financial-sponsored Arkriders Bournemouth Beano event on July 14-15 – which is raising money for Ark – members of the team will be clocking up the miles on a static bike from July 9-13.

On each of the five days, the Beaufort Financial team will be racking up 70 miles – the equivalent distance of one day’s journey on the Bournemouth Beano which will see 37 cyclists ride from Basingstoke to Bournemouth and then return the following day. For the static bike challenge, they are hoping that other Ark supporters will drop in to the company’s offices at Dunsden, near Reading, and provide some additional pedal power during the week.

Beaufort Financial director Mark Dolby, who with adviser colleague Ashley Hull will be among the cyclists taking part in the Bournemouth Beano, said: We decided to do the static bike challenge to help raise awareness of the Arkriders Bournemouth Beano event, which Beaufort Financial is sponsoring, and Ark Cancer Centre Charity, which we are proud to support as our Charity of the Year.

We will be opening up our office to guest riders on July 10, 11 and 12 so it would be great to see some fellow Ark fundraisers come along and hop on the static bike to help us reach our target miles on those days.

Last year, Mark, Ashley, and Beaufort Financial colleague Andy Coles were among 34 Arkriders who cycled from Ark Cancer Centre Charity’s offices in Basingstoke to the Arc de Triomphe – helping to raise more than £70,000 for the charity, which is raising £5million towards a new cancer treatment centre.

Beaufort Financial staff, who are supporting Ark for the third year in a row, have already raised thousands of pounds in 2018 after several of the team, together with clients and business colleagues, abseiled down the Emirates Spinnaker Tower, in Portsmouth, in May.

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications at Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: The support from the Beaufort Financial team for Ark has been truly outstanding, and we hope that fellow Ark supporters will pop in and help out with the static bike challenge ahead of the Bournemouth Beano.
