Last week, Beaufort Financial sponsored and hosted a table at The Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane’s Charity International Boxing tournament.

The popular annual event is one of the highlights of the Basingstoke business and sporting events calendar. This year’s event was attended by 350 guests and nearly £20,000 was raised.

Lindy Richardson, President of The Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane, said: This was undoubtedly one of the most successful charity boxing events that the club has held. We were delighted to see many regular supporters and also a lot of new faces, many of whom have already said they will be back next year.

The main recipient out of the 40 charities and good causes that will benefit from the proceeds raised at this year’s event is our charity of choice, Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Ark Cancer Centre Charity is raising £5million towards a unique local cancer treatment centre that will help and support people in the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) area.

The centre, which will largely be funded by HHFT and is set to be built on the existing Basingstoke hospital site, will ensure a range of support services and complementary therapies are available alongside chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments in a calm and uplifting environment.
